The view from High Hut. A nice place to sit for hours upon end

In conjunction with an article printing in The Seattle Times this weekend, here are some additional photos from my trip to High Hut – one of 4 backcountry lodges managed by the Mt. Tahoma Trails Association (MTTA).

This trail connects three of MTTA’s lodges. Main trails are snowed in logging roads but side trails offer plenty of backcountry opportunity

The main trails leading to the huts are usually groomed, but storms or heavy snowfalls can mean traveling through heavy powder
